If you want to succeed you should strike out on new paths, rather than travel the worn paths of accepted success ~ John D. Rockefeller (1839-1937)

Scientific goals:
(i) generate practical usable knowledge on increasing productivity per unit land, water, fertilizer, energy, time

(ii)innovate ecosystem technologies (e.g., sensitive to molecular based remotely sensed plant signals) to "talk" to plants to provide early warning signals on stresses/disease, and enhance nutrient intake efficiency thus minimizing wastage/pollution

How? using multi-criteria analysis techniques to: (i) screen-out sensitive variables to any complex-problem, (ii) hierarchically rank significant variables, (iii) investigate the interrelationships of the facets, and (iv) recommend solutions
