"give a person fish, and you'll provide food forever; teach them to fish, and you've fed them a lifetime."

Dr. Vincent de Paul Obade is a gregarious person who strives to nurture success and a positive attitude in all people.  He believes that irrespective of gender, age or wealth-status, every individual has a right to quality education. Dr Obade nurtures people into "organic intellectuals" to become future dignified global leaders.  "Organic intellectuals are critical thinkers who create new ideas, actualize inventions that improve societal wellbeing, whereas academic intellectuals follow the status quo" (Obade and Gaya, 2021). In tandem, sustainable solutions to global challenges should be all inclusive involving all stakeholders, that is, policymakers, scientist, and public.

Dr Obade is not only an academic facilitator, but also a keen listener and learner. He has an established reputation world-wide, a stellar publication record, and has received major national/international awards. The question he often poses is:

  • what is the brand of technical education?

  • does the technical education prepare an individual for the real world?

His answer to both questions is that education is only useful if it transforms a person into an innovative, honest, clear-minded and ambitious (thirst for new knowledge) with a burning desire to serve the society, through high quality professional service or leadership.  He believes that success is the total quality of a person, and is guaranteed through hard work.  Dr. Vincent Obade has a benign approach to life and sees his role on Earth as a fulcrum for encouraging people to excel in their endeavors.
